Profile of Abhinaya Vedula

At 38, Abhinaya has had a self-motivated 15 year career, which involves experience in a variety of fields from Hotels to Education to IT industry. She started her career in 1992 after completing her studies in Hotel Management from Institute of Hotel Management, Delhi and started working for Taj group of hotels as a Management Trainee. Soon after, she moved to the US and pursued studies in Management and Child Psychology in Chicago which triggered her interest in Education. This led her deeper into the field of Education and she became a part of a Management team of a chain of preschools while pursuing Masters in Education from University of Washington in Seattle. Combining her interests and experience, she started her own venture, a preschool which was based on the philosophy of Italian Educators, Reggio Emilia. This school was run successfully for 7 years before she moved back to India in 2006 with her family. She joined SatNav in 2007, yet a new area – an IT products company.

It was a combination of her interests and learning that led her to experiment with various business ideas along her 15 year career. She joined SatNav Technologies as Manager of Corporate Communications and moved up quickly to become DGM, as her eagerness to learn and perform in challenging areas. She took upon herself various new tasks in the company: Corporate Communications, successfully implementing and leading SatNav towards ISO certification, New Business Development and now heads the recently launched project of SatNav – a brand new initiative to provide Voice directions to any mobile phone across India, called LCU, Lost? Abhinaya’s success in various fields comes from her interest to learn and exploit the opportunities in front of her. She firmly believes in the fact taught by her father that a person fulfills his/her life by learning something new every single day. Her mother has taught her that her contribution towards society is what counts.

Abhinaya believes that balancing life and career is important in anybody’s life. She oil paints and loves to travel with her husband, Nagender and their two sons, Satya & Sathwik during her leisure time.
